Committee on Committees (COC) has the key responsibility of making sure that the various A.S. boards, committees, and commissions (BCCs) are staffed with qualified students. This is an ongoing task, since there are over 60 student organizations the committee works with and turnover is continual. This turnover reflects the challenges and opportunities inherent in student life, which range from course load changes to off campus opportunities like study abroad and professional internships.<\/p>\n

Becoming a member of an A.S. organization is essentially a three-step process. Find an organization that interests you, fill out an online application on the COC website, and wait for a COC member to contact you. Once you\u2019re onboard the most important thing is, of course, to show up for your group\u2019s meetings and be actively involved in the group\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n

COC also recruits leaders in which case those interested apply as members, but are then also interviewed to make sure they are qualified and fully understand the responsibilities of serving in a leadership role as say a committee chair or vice-chair. Leaders must also be approved by the A.S. President and the Legislative Council.<\/p>\n
