Each member, including the General Manager, is responsible for specific aspects of KCSB programming, including making sure the station adheres to FCC regulations, communicating with record labels, assisting with technology maintenance, publicity, community relations, news and sports broadcasting, and more.

EVPLA Walter Capps Park Fence https://flashback.as.ucsb.edu/2012-13/2013/02/28/evpla-walter-capps-park-fence/ Thu, 28 Feb 2013 18:02:31 +0000 http://flashback.as.ucsb.edu/2012-13/?p=3229 Until this past Spring Quarter, Walter Capps Memorial Park was the only bluff top park along Isla Vista’s Del Playa Drive that didn’t have some kind of fence or railing to help prevent people from falling off the cliff that borders these parks. External Vice President Local Affairs Rhandy Siordia and his office were instrumental in working with Santa Barbara County planners and 3rd District County Supervisor Doreen Farr to remedy this situation. The fence was eventually fully funded by the County and a donation of time by a local contractor. The result is a fence built in record time and added safety for UCSB students and visitors to IV.

Students gathered in the bike circle next to Storke Tower to send their message. People were generally receptive, though participants were also subjected to jeers by a few, which is exactly why these kinds of actions continue to be important!
