Commission on Student Well Being<\/a> is dedicated to promoting the physical and mental well being of the UCSB community. Since forming in 2008, the Commission has broadened the scope of its initiatives and this year produced a variety of activities to engage students and encourage lifelong healthy habits.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2918\" alt=\"211089_409739575764644_372532339_n\" src=\"https:\/\/flashback.as.ucsb.edu\/2012-13\/files\/2011\/05\/211089_409739575764644_372532339_n.jpg\" width=\"180\" height=\"232\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In January COSWB presented UCSB Professors<a href=\"http:\/\/www.soc.ucsb.edu\/faculty\/john-baldwin\"> John<\/a> and<a href=\"http:\/\/www.soc.ucsb.edu\/faculty\/janice-baldwin\"> Janice<\/a> Baldwin. The Baldwins are well-known on campus for their <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.latimes.com\/2009\/aug\/01\/local\/me-sexclass1\">Sociology of Human Sexuality<\/a> course, which has become a not-to-be-missed part of the UCSB undergraduate experience.<\/p>\n<p>They spoke about hook up culture and sex in general in current society. The event was well attended and informative about topics that are critical for both the physical and mental health of the campus community.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2915\" alt=\"424045_590402530985942_879163725_n\" src=\"https:\/\/flashback.as.ucsb.edu\/2012-13\/files\/2011\/05\/424045_590402530985942_879163725_n.jpg\" width=\"960\" height=\"717\" srcset=\"https:\/\/flashback.as.ucsb.edu\/2012-13\/files\/2011\/05\/424045_590402530985942_879163725_n.jpg 960w, https:\/\/flashback.as.ucsb.edu\/2012-13\/files\/2011\/05\/424045_590402530985942_879163725_n-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/flashback.as.ucsb.edu\/2012-13\/files\/2011\/05\/424045_590402530985942_879163725_n-700x522.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\"><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\"><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Free Fitness Tuesdays<\/h2>\n<p>Once again COSWB promoted physical fitness by hosting free weekly classes in a variety of\u00a0fitness routines.\u00a0The classes were always fun and included, Pilates, Burlesque, Yoga, Hip Hop Cardio, Kickboxing, and Salsaerobics.<\/p>\n<h2>Make Your Own Granola Bars and Trail Mix Workshops<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3261\" alt=\"373512_531568930197276_497866275_n\" src=\"https:\/\/flashback.as.ucsb.edu\/2012-13\/files\/2011\/05\/373512_531568930197276_497866275_n.jpg\" width=\"180\" height=\"134\" \/>In collaboration with the A.S. Food Bank, Community Affairs Board, Environmental Affairs Board, Health and Wellness Interns, and Student Food Collective, COSWB co-spsonored a free food demo on how to make granola bars using just a few healthy ingredients. Before Winter Quarter finals they also co-hosted a make your own trail mix gathering in front of Davidson Library.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0Allison Moon Speaks on &#8220;Artivism&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p>COSWB was a co-sponsor with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/UCSBSCORE?fref=ts\">Student Commission on Racial Equality<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/tbtnsb?fref=ts\">Take Back The Night<\/a> to bring<a href=\"http:\/\/www.talesofthepack.com\/about-3\/about-allison\">\u00a0Allison Moon<\/a>\u00a0to campus during Winter Quarter to speak on art as activism.
