This year it played a significant role in the dispute between evicted tenants and Majestic Asset Management, Inc.\u00a0the new owners of the Abrego Apartments. Their intervention resulted in an out-of-court settlement that gave the tenants compensation they were entitled to by county ordinance.<\/p>\n<h2>SERVICES<\/h2>\n<p>Day to day, the center provides free consultations, education, and referrals to registered UCSB undergraduate students.\u00a0It&#8217;s\u00a0committed to advising students of all available legal options,\u00a0and helping them find and achieve practical resolutions.<\/p>\n<p>The center&#8217;s services include offering\u00a0information and support on a variety of issues:<\/p>\n<p>Minor in Possession, Drunk in Public, or Public Urination citations<\/p>\n<p>Security Deposit Disputes<\/p>\n<p>Restraining Orders<\/p>\n<p>Vehicle Accidents<\/p>\n<p>Lease &amp; Rental Information<\/p>\n<p>and More!<\/p>\n<p>The Center cannot\u00a0provide formal legal representation, but rather education, facilitation, and self-help services to help students solve problems and\u00a0obtain favorable results.<\/p>\n<p>Because AS is a university organization, the center can&#8217;t get involved in conflicts between two or more UCSB students, or between a student and the University.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; INTRODUCTION The Legal Resource Center (LRC) has a long history of serving the Isla Vista Community.
