Legal Resource Center<\/a> (LRC) has a long history of serving the Isla Vista Community. This year it played a significant role in the dispute between evicted tenants and Majestic Asset Management, Inc.\u00a0the new owners of the Abrego Apartments. Their intervention resulted in an out-of-court settlement that gave the tenants compensation they were entitled to by county ordinance.<\/p>\nSERVICES<\/h2>\n
Day to day, the center provides free consultations, education, and referrals to registered UCSB undergraduate students.\u00a0It’s\u00a0committed to advising students of all available legal options,\u00a0and helping them find and achieve practical resolutions.<\/p>\n
The center’s services include offering\u00a0information and support on a variety of issues:<\/p>\n

The Center cannot\u00a0provide formal legal representation, but rather education, facilitation, and self-help services to help students solve problems and\u00a0obtain favorable results.<\/p>\n
Because AS is a university organization, the center can’t get involved in conflicts between two or more UCSB students, or between a student and the University.<\/p>\n
