Committee on Honoraria

The Committee on Honoraria oversees the allocation of all A.S. honoraria funds except those for Legislative Council members. Honoraria are paid to students who directly serve students by serving on A.S. Boards, Committees, and Commissions (BCCs) and in the office of the A.S. Executive Officers. This year the Committee on Honoraria awarded a total of $279,776. The awards ranged from $15 to $800/quarter, averaging $300 to $400/quarter.

The Committee reviews honoraria applications quarterly. The applicants must answer specific questions about their service and the review includes evaluating the written honoraria request and consulting with committee chairs and members to make sure the applicant fully carried out his or her duties as a committee member. The Committee then makes a recommendation based on its findings and makes its report available to Legislative Council for review. In some cases a request will be denied or the applicant will not receive the full amount of the honorarium. In most cases students devote considerable time and energy above and beyond the minimum required!
