The Investment Services Committee has been active this year bringing a number of speakers to campus.
In January the committee hosted a Leveraged Buyout Modeling (LBO) Workshop. Students learned how to construct an LBO model from scratch by following an instructor as he built one that was projected onto a screen. The learning process was hands-on and students were able to save the model on Excel, and have it as a reference for future use/practice.
The committee also brought UCSB alumnus Nicole Belytschko, Director of Private Equity at CM Capital. She talked about her career, her firm, and internship opportunities. In fact, she was looking to hire a UCSB undergrad as an intern.
Michael Harden and Phillip Chou represented Eureka Capital. They came to campus and discussed the investment banking industry and their firm’s summer analyst internship program, which is open to UCSB students.
