The A.S. Investment Advisory Committee (IAC) works to educate UCSB students in the areas of finance and investing. Working with an active portfolio, currently valued at $40,000, participants accumulate genuine experience in securities and portfolio management through hands-on investment experience.

The committee’s intent is to generate substantial returns on its investments, while ensuring that all of A.S. investments meet the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility. All investment returns are distributed among student organizations.

The IAC also uses its resources to attract notable investment professionals to give free on-campus public lectures. The committee sends quarterly emails to subscribers announcing upcoming events, available board positions, and occasional job and internship opportunities. Students and the general public are also invited to visit the IAC Blog for weekly economic analysis, stock pitches, and special interest articles written by comittee members.
