The Associated Students Legislative Council is a group of elected representatives which serves as the policy-making body of Associated Students. As a governing body, it strives to open lines of communication between students, the administration, and the greater community. Members of the Legislative Council seek to be proactive in addressing student needs and providing and facilitating services and resources that enhance the UCSB experience.
The Council has 24 representatives and is chaired by the Internal Vice President for Associated Students. There are 6 Representatives at Large (represent 3,000 students each), 12 Off Campus Representatives (represent 1,000 off campus students each), 5 On Campus Representatives (represent 1,000 on campus students each), and 1 University Owned Housing Representative (represent 1,000 students living in university owned apartments). These representatives are elected by students during week 4 of spring quarter.
