Philanthropy
Introduction
Following a longstanding tradition, UCSB students funded a variety of organizations on and off campus this past year. In past years, the A.S. executive officers’ offices and several A.S. boards, committees, and commissions evaluated applications. Coastal Fund (CF) alone generally grants almost $300,000 each year for a variety of environmental projects. Other A.S. groups engaged in philanthropic giving included the A.S. executive offices, Isla Vista Community Relations Committee (IVCRC), and Community Affairs Board (CAB) Foundation. Whenever possible, this giving includes provisions that the recipient provide paid internships for students.
CAB Foundation
The CAB Foundation is a student run granting agency that supports community building efforts. This year the Foundation supported several campus and local organizations.
