INTRODUCTION
The goal of the A.S. Global Gaucho Commission is to provide a positive and comfortable learning environment for international students. It’s another example of students taking action to serve students directly and acknowledges the increase presence of international student on campus. The commission began this year by building a mailing list to keep subscribers updated about events on campus of interest to the international student community.
NEW SENATORS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The crowning achievement of this year’s Global Gauchos advocacy was the creation of two new international students seats in the AS Senate. Recognizing that there are increasing numbers of international students at UCSB and that they have unique needs, students voted overwhelmingly to establish these seats.

During fall quarter the Global Gaucho Commission was down for the International Food Fest offering food from around the world including chinese dumplings, masala chai, green onion pancakes, watermelon tea and many more!!
