The Community Financial Fund (CFF) began in the 2010-2011 school year with passage of a $2.10 lock-in student fee. CFF was created to assist students by providing more access to grants and helping supplement the current Associated Students emergency loan program. This Fund also includes a credit builder program, regular financial literacy workshops, and helps students learn about financial resources and services available on the UCSB campus and within Santa Barbara County.

GRANT APPLICATION PROCESS

FINANCIAL LITERACY WORKSHOPS

Each year hundreds of students participate in CFF Financial Literacy Workshops. They are an integral part of the CFF program and attendance is mandatory for all CFF grant recipients. The workshops, which are offered throughout the year, give students a comprehensive overview of the basics of managing their finances. These are critical skills and the goal is for students to establish sound habits that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Thanks to Jose Raygoza for his work making the Community Financial Fund a reality. At the end of this academic year, he accepted a position as Accountant with Extramural Fund Accounting in the Administrative Services Division.

During his time at AS he served countless students as an advisor and teaching the CFF workshops. Before that his work as Record Keeping Specialist in the AS Administrative Office was invaluable. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
