ABOUT THE COUNCIL

During this past year no cases were brought to the council. Often these charges are of elections violations and there were no allegations this year.

The charge of Judicial Council is to hear cases alleging violations of the AS Constitution, AS Legal Code, and AS Elections By-Laws, as well as the by-laws and policies of any AS entity. Anyone can submit a case alleging a violation and request a hearing. Judicial Council can review the documents and decide to hear the case or not to hear the case; if the council decides not to hear a case it’s most often because the allegation isn’t a Legal Code violation.

The jurisdiction of the council is Associated Students and internal organization infractions.
