INTRODUCTION
Each quarter, every UCSB undergraduate pays a fee of $186.04 to Associated Students. This fee supports the work of Associated Students and other campus departments that benefit UCSB students, the campus and the surrounding community. The charge of the AS Finance and Business Committee is to help registered student organizations put on successful events, provide necessary student services, hold conferences, and fund championship aspiring academic and sports teams by providing student funds.
The AS Finance and Business Committee is composed of Chair, Vice-chair, Chief Financial Officer, 10 Finance Officers, and 8 Senators. The student leaders who sit on the Finance and Business Committee are tasked with the careful deliberation and, when appropriate, approval of funding for student groups. The committee tries to fund as many groups and activities as possible each year. In some cases groups can also ask for funds from other AS entities that have discretionary funds to spend.
One thing the Finance and Business Committee insists on is that any group funded by AS acknowledges the source of this funding in all of its publicity.

Yes, it’s a long list. UCSB students are generous and proactive when it comes to supporting other groups, including Office of Student Life approved groups, the Greek system, AS entities, and more, doing good work in our community. For starters, here are some of the AS groups supported:
AS funds also support projects, events, fundraisers, conferences, academic and sports competition travel, and more, all initiated, planned, participated in or produced by students at UCSB.
