GOVERNMENT

The UCSB student government has traditionally been one of the most proactive in the UC system. It includes five officers, the AS President, the Internal Vice President, the External Vice President Local Affairs, the External Vice President Statewide Affairs, and the Student Advocate General. The Senate is the legislative branch of AS. All of the officers and Senators are elected officials with campus-wide elections held each spring quarter. The elections are organized and monitored by the non-partisan AS Elections Committee.
